3D Nanoelectronic Computer Architecture and Implementation

Product Description
This fourth edition of Roy and Clarke’s classic textbook has been updated and expanded to include the many exciting developments in modern astronomy and experimental observations.

Astronomy: Structure of the Universe is the second of two textbooks written to meet the current need for a comprehensive and systematic treatment of astronomy, including the physical and mathematical groundwork so often omitted from other textbooks. Together with the introductory companion volume Astronomy: Principles and Practice it comprises a complete two-year course in astronomy, while portions of the text may be selected as the basis of a preliminary science or liberal arts course at the first-year university level. Both books include many worked examples, problems with answers, and a selection of practical projects.

Although primarily intended for undergraduate use, these books will also afford serious amateur astronomers a welcome opportunity to study their subject as a working science. This volume Astronomy: Structure of the Universe describes the observable features of the universe. The first part describes our Solar System and its members, giving special attention to the Sun, Earth and Moon. The second part treats the nature of matter and its behaviour in stellar bodies and interstellar matter under a wide range of physical conditions. The third part discusses our Galaxy in detail before considering external galaxies and ending with questions of cosmology and cosmogony. The third edition contains much new information derived from recent experiments and space missions. The text is updated throughout

Meeting the Challenge of Sustainable Mobility: The Role of Technological Innovations

May 21, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Product Description
The author provides new insights into the relationship between transport and the environment, the role of technology and the meaning of the concept of sustainable development for the transport sector. Special attention is given to the relationship between technological progress and policy. The different theoretical approaches are combined to create a strategy for R&D and the implementation of mega-technological innovations. The empirical part deals with two specific cases: Maglev technology and fuel-cell technology for transport purposes. Taking into account the new theoretical insights and the empirical findings, the author presents a synthesis and draws conclusions which are important for researchers and professionals in transportation, environmental sciences and related fields.

Product Description
Logic Design of NanoICs introduces a new concept-computer-aided logic circuit design in nanometric space. This concept represents a breakthrough from two- to three-dimensional thinking about logic circuit design and imparts a new understanding of information processing at the atomic level. It presents a powerful new methodology and ready-to-go algorithms for circuit design and provides a set of models and practical recommendations that will help establish recognized standards and benchmarks for product testing, tuning, and implementation. Designed for specialists in nanoelectronics, this book will also serve as an outstanding textbook that with course adoptions, offers a wealth of ancillary materials.

Product Description
Foresight has experienced a great upswing in the last few years, partly in view of the Millenium. Innovations for our Future describes not only the big development trends of the future in research and technology, but also the re-discovery of the Delphi method. The Delphi method is not new, but with further developed methodology it is being used increasingly to take stock of innovative future developments. The book describes results of the widespread national survey of 1998, a German-Japanese comparison, another comparison with the preceding Delphi study as well as its utilization and implementation.

Product Description

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 15th International Meeting on DNA Computing, DNA15, held in Fayetteville, AR, USA, in June 2009.

The 16 revised full papers presented were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from 38 submissions. The papers feature current interdisciplinary research in molecular-scale manipulation of matter – in particular, implementation of nanoscale computation and programmed assembly of materials are of interest, thus reflecting a broader scope beyond DNA-based nanotechnology and computation.
