Thermal Decomposition of Solids and Melts: New Thermochemical Approach to the Mechanism, Kinetics and Methodology (Hot Topics in Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry)

This book covers the results of investigations into the mechanisms and kinetics of thermal decompositions of solid and liquid substances on the basis of thermochemical analyses of the processes. In the framework of the proposed ideas, the main features of these reactions are explained and many problems and unusual phenomena, which have accumulated in this field are interpreted. New methods of TA measurement and calculation have been developed, which permit the precision and accuracy of determination of kinetic parameters to be increased substantially. Reliable kinetic characteristics have been obtained and the decomposition mechanisms for several tens of substances have been interpreted. These include different classes of compounds: crystalline hydrates, oxides, hydroxides, nitrides, azides, nitrates, sulfates, carbonates and oxalates.

Product Description
Logic Design of NanoICs introduces a new concept-computer-aided logic circuit design in nanometric space. This concept represents a breakthrough from two- to three-dimensional thinking about logic circuit design and imparts a new understanding of information processing at the atomic level. It presents a powerful new methodology and ready-to-go algorithms for circuit design and provides a set of models and practical recommendations that will help establish recognized standards and benchmarks for product testing, tuning, and implementation. Designed for specialists in nanoelectronics, this book will also serve as an outstanding textbook that with course adoptions, offers a wealth of ancillary materials.

Product Description
The area of tribology deals with the design, friction, wear and lubrication of interacting surfaces in relative motion. Polymer nanocomposite materials are increasingly common and offer remarkable improvements in the friction and wear properties of both bulk materials and coatings.

This book gives a comprehensive description of polymeric nanocomposites, both as bulk materials and as thin surface coatings, and their behavior and potential use in tribological applications. It provides the preparation techniques, friction and wear mechanisms, properties of polymeric nanocomposites, characterization, evaluation and selection methodology. It also provides various examples of application of polymeric nanocomposites.

* Provides a complete reference from the preparation to the selection of polymeric nanocomposites
* Explains the theory through examples of real world applications
* More than 20 international tribology experts contribute to their area of expertise
